Captain Ezri

Ezri Dax is possibly my favorite character in all of sci fi. Which is kind of an amazing fact given the dark shadow she had to emerge from. Jadzia was a beloved figure in DS9, to everyone, I think, but definitely to me. And her death sucked rocks!

Which just goes to show you how awesome Nicole de Boer is at her job. And at just being an all around captivatingly adorable human being.

But that was the thing. Ezri was adorable. She was a cute, flustered, emotional wreck of a character who could barely keep it together enough to not succumb to space sickness.

So when I discovered that in the DS9 reboot novels she went on to take on a captaincy I kind of laughed out loud. And though the promo shots they use on the covers are unavoidably out of date, they don't really help make that seem more plausible.

Either way I plan to read them but as I was watching one of Nicole's more recent SyFy Channel masterpieces (sarcasm...but actually I loved it....probably just because it was her) I was thinking that these days she continues to be as cute as a button but she has matured, of course. I would totally take her seriously as the captain of a starship now.

And so.... ^^

It's probably not the best manip ever but I did it kind of fast to get the idea out. Worked out okay, I think.
